Medusa

Yes we all have visions of the mythical creature named Medusa, with her wild hair made from green snakes & mad eyes that could turn you to stone! Well we suppose the colours & unusal shapes of our brand new soap just reminded us of her...so after a grubby day at work, whip off those work clothes, grab Medusa & take her in the shower & smell human again, with a zesty zingy grapefruity fragrance.
 As with all our soaps these are not `melt & pour` we don`t buy pre-made packets then throw it in a mould & consider it handmade!! These are made by our hands and the slices & swirls are lovingly cut...thats why so it`s special!!

OOh it`s so Caramelicious ..

Heavenly bodies just loves chocolate & caramel...it`s so luxurious & gives a feeling of naughtiness....but we don`t care for all that guilt....in fact we embrace it!!.
  Caramelicious is a yummy scented soap with all the gorgeousness you deserve, filled with  moisturising olive oil, Palm oil (RSPO ethically sourced), coconut oil & castor oil...all the ingredients to give you loads of bubbly sweet smelling frothiness wrapped in this long lasting bar. WoW....this loaf will be ready for our next event at Widnes Rally on the 29th / 30th September, come down & enjoy the last of the Summer with us, it`s going to be a great weekend.

Beautiful silky honey bee..just simply heavenly

After lots of requests, we have succumbed to making this none vegan soap.

It is of course still vegetarian. (check our previous blog entry when we talk about the source of the following ingredients) I must say that this has to be the most luxurious soap we have made to date, infused with tussah silk & honey along with our usual skin loving oils - and the smell is just an amazing sweet, warm, honey / vanilla fragrance and the texture, super silky smooth (no surprise there)..

We promised pictures, now 3 weeks for hardening... but might cut a small corner just off one bar.. just to test of course :-))

Silky Honey Bee Cutting Tonight!! ;-)) Watch this space!

This evening is cutting time, excited as this is the first time we have used real tussah silk in our soap, I have to say the smell is amazing!! the addition of honey in this batch has given the soap a rich honey yellow colour which is beautiful, the gentle sweet aroma seems to ooze out from it...wow...we cannot wait to get it in the shower!! ..this soap will be ready for sale at our next event which is Widnes Vintage Rally on September 29th / 30th 2012. Till tonight then.....

SLS- Whats the story???

Several customers and friends have asked us what SLS is & why exactly do people make a big song & dance about it!  SLS is short for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and is an organic compound used in many cleaning and hygiene products and acts as a foaming agent. So why is it so bad for us? Basically, it gets under the skin and can cause dryness, rashes, itching, irritation and break-outs. As stated above its in a lot of commercial soaps and for most people using it in small amounts isn’t a huge concern, but if you have sensitive or dry skin, you may want to avoid it altogether.

People who use products with SLS in, may in most cases report no problems but may not realise when they suffer from dry patches that this is a reaction to this additive. We have heard back from a lot of people who used Natural soaps for the first time and found that all their skin problems mysteriously vanished, one reason would be the absence of chemicals like SLS and the fact that the good glycerin is not removed.

These along with other reasons are clear examples of what your skin wants… and needs to be at it’s best! Next time you go to your local supermarket just take time out to turn over any product in the toiletries aisle...you maybe surprised to find the ones that claim to be the most gentle on skin contain one of the nasty chemicals we go on about.. yes you guessed it... SLS
